Allergy Free Advent Calenders

9 weeks tomorrow and it will be the first day of advent! How does it sneak up on us so fast?

The biggest question I see this time of year is ‘Where can I get dairy/soya free advent calenders from’?

You can of course buy them from big supermarkets and online but what about making your own. Christmas to me is all about building up on family traditions and in my house creating our own with our young family. Mini Buddies Nana made him an advent calender that we can use year after year. 24 knitted socks sewn on to a fabric panel, bit of bambo and string and hey presto! This is our 3rd ‘free from’ Christmas and each year I try do something different that reflects his interests. This year I have got a bargain, pre-loved lego characters so we are filling his socks with a combination of these and dairy free treats. I don’t stick to chocolate I use raisins, naked bars, haribo, juicey shapes, home made biscuits, flap jack – anything really.

If you fancy making your own I’ve researched a few ideas for you that are pretty simple to make and don’t cost the earth.

About Us

Who are we?

Allergy Buddies are custom made products to alert everyone of a child’s allergy or intolerance.

Ever had an instance at a crèche, party, play-gym where someone has given your child something that made them ill? Yes me too. I’m sure like me you want to keep your child safe and that is where Allergy Buddies comes in. My little chap is so far intolerant to diary, eggs and we think citric acid as well as hayfever of every description and pet allergies. So I decided to create a brand that would allow a child’s allergy/intolerance to be easily identified by any carer, teacher and other parents and to help prevent those dreaded slips.
